Hi, I’m RACHEL BERRYMAN
A decade transforming traditional industries
I’ve spent nearly 10 years finding value at the intersections: identifying missed opportunities and connecting the dots. With an interdisciplinary background spanning computer science, sustainable development, and economics, I am a natural translator. I build bridges between siloed fields that don’t speak the same language, particularly between tech teams and business leaders.
The work I’m most proud of always crosses
strategy, operations, and tech.
Some examples:
Developing customer reporting capabilities at a B2B AI start-up. Worked with the start-up’s leadership and its first customers to devise metrics that showcased the value of the start-up’s technology. Then, made automated reports on these metrics happen with automated scripts and visuals. Presented the reports weekly to the customers, improving the reports to help show our product’s value.
Building up an AI Center of Excellence at a major European energy utility. Created an AI demystification course to drum up interest in AI and understanding of use case areas (this was before the GenAI boom). Then, worked with the company’s innovation team to develop a use case identification and prioritization workshop to find high-value use cases. At the same time, hired data science talent to work on the use cases, growing the team from 2 to 20+ in 2 years, all working on use cases that came directly from the business. Defined metrics with the business units so that they could track the value the use cases brought to their core business challenges.
Data strategy for a pre-seed IoT start-up. The start-up approached me for help future-proofing their data architecture. Rather than diving in to technical specifications, I started by looking at their goals, and the various business models they were exploring, to identify what data they would need to reach these goals.
I support companies innovating in the real world and brining real value in fields like energy, building, and environment.

ABOUT ME *
what i am
Goal-oriented. Maybe something more than that: I can’t work on something if I don’t believe in the goal, if I don’t buy the mission.
A motivator. We all want the carrot, not the stick. I believe that motivation is the most important ingredient to success of any project or initiative.
A pragmatist. I will always take a solution over no solution.
An efficiency-nut.
How I work
Focused, valuable time. Expect workshops and touchpoints where everyone is fully engaged, with clear next steps and follow-up that people are excited about. Don’t expect thousands of slides no one will read.
Writing. I believe in the lost art of long-form writing. It’s how we get to the deeper core of the matter.
Full engagement and dialogue. I like to work with everyone, regardless of hierarchy, to get a full picture and understand as much as possible.
Tailored. No cookie-cutter templates or strict processes.
